Green jobs project launches for youths

by NDABENI MLOTSHWA
BULAWAYO – A US$30 million youth-driven project has been launched to create green jobs in the countryside.

More than 240,000 people, including nearly 80,000 youths, will benefit from the Adolescents and Youth for a Sustainable Future (AY4SF) project.

The initiative is supported by the Green Climate Fund, Save the Children and the government.

It will provide training in sustainable agriculture, renewable energy and waste management.

Minister Anxious Masuka said the project aligns with national priorities to modernise agriculture.

Zimbabwe remains vulnerable to climate change, facing droughts, floods and extreme weather.

Save the Children said the project empowers youth to lead climate solutions.

“We are investing in a more resilient future,” officials said.
