New hotels coming to Victoria Falls, Harare

NAIROBI – RADISSON Hotel Group is accelerating its expansion across Africa and strengthening its footprint in Zimbabwe, with strategic investments in Victoria Falls, Matabeleland North, and the capital city Harare that signal growing confidence in the country’s tourism and business travel sectors.

This momentum comes as the Group continues broad development across the continent, building on its milestone of more than 100 hotels in Africa in operation and under development.

In Harare, Radisson has made its mark with a flagship luxury project in the capital’s prestigious Millennium Heights estate.

The Radisson Serviced Apartments – Harare represents a landmark hospitality investment as the country’s first internationally branded serviced apartment hotel, combining upscale amenities with hotel‑style services in one of the city’s most sought‑after mixed‑use destinations.

The Harare development reflects broader opportunities in Zimbabwe’s hospitality landscape, underscored by partnerships with local developers such as WestProp (WestProperties) that align global hotel expertise with local market insight.

Observers say initiatives like these are seen as “proof of Zimbabwe as an investment destination,” helping drive employment, enhance infrastructure, and expand the nation’s appeal to international and regional travelers.

Beyond Victoria Falls, Radisson’s gaze is firmly set on Matabeleland North and Harare, two of Zimbabwe’s most iconic tourism regions.

With Victoria Falls ranked among the world’s leading natural wonders and a magnet for international visitors, hotel investments here are positioned to tap into year‑round tourism demand.

Industry sources note that Radisson is exploring opportunities in the area, building on its entry into the Zimbabwe market and responding to rising interest from both leisure and business travelers.

These developments come against a backdrop of broader African expansion by Radisson Hotel Group. Over the past year, the Group has signed 15+ new hotels and roughly 2,500 rooms, including market entries in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe, underscoring its continent‑wide momentum.

Across Africa, Radisson’s strategy has emphasised both new builds and conversions, allowing rapid scaling in high‑growth markets such as Morocco, Nigeria, and South Africa, while also establishing a pipeline in emerging destinations.

For Zimbabwe, Radisson’s targeted investments in major urban and tourism hubs signal not only confidence in the nation’s hospitality potential but also a broader trend of increased international capital flowing into the country’s tourism and lifestyle sectors.
