MBALABALA – FORMER Zimbabwe international and Warriors assistant coach Mkhuphali Masuku has returned to Talen Vision, taking charge as head coach nearly five years after his initial tenure at the Filabusi-based club.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Masuku arrived back in Zimbabwe two weeks ago following a nearly three-year stint in Europe, where he gained further coaching exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His return was finalised after renewed discussions with Talen Vision officials, who persuaded him to resume a project that stalled following his departure in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The timing is crucial, coming off a season in which promotion slipped away in the final stages of the Zifa Southern Region League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talen Vision, based in Filabusi and competing in the Southern Region League, saw its promotion hopes collapse last season after a strong campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A late run of poor results allowed Bulawayo City to seize the top spot, leaving Talen Vision\u2019s leadership with questions about direction and squad depth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite this setback, the club has long been recognised as one of the Southern Region League\u2019s most stable outfits, frequently finishing in the top five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Masuku brings a wealth of experience both as a player and coach. He began his career in Division One, representing clubs such as Railstars and Shabanie Mine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He later progressed to the Premier Soccer League, playing for top-tier sides CAPS United and Black Rhinos, before earning caps for the Zimbabwe national team, the Warriors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known for his tactical intelligence and discipline, Masuku also served as an assistant coach for the national team, bringing leadership and technical expertise to every role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talen Vision chairman Elton Sinyosi confirmed Masuku\u2019s return on Saturday, emphasising the club\u2019s desire for continuity rather than another reset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Masuku will have the authority to shape his technical team, while Lizwe Sweswe remains technical director, ensuring the club\u2019s long-term project continues without disruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflecting on his appointment, Masuku highlighted the importance of rebuilding trust within the club and restoring momentum lost last season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m not a magician and I won\u2019t promise miracles,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Masuku\u2019s familiarity with Talen Vision\u2019s operations, people, and ambitions positions him ideally to guide the club back to promotion contention in the Southern Region League, as the team looks to convert potential into sustained success.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
