JOHANNESBURG – MCDONALD’S South Africa has marked World Children\u2019s Day by spotlighting the significant contribution its customers have made toward supporting families of seriously ill or injured children.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through its long-running partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), the company channels 50 cents from every Happy Meal sold, along with voluntary R5 in-store donations, to programmes offering accommodation, meals, and emotional support to families in medical crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the organisation, public generosity over the past year has helped deliver 31,800 meals to families, supported 30,800 mothers through RMHC lactation centres, and provided 41,000 families with a place to stay near hospitals via Ronald McDonald House facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

McDonald\u2019s SA says these initiatives reflect its broader commitment to social impact in the communities it serves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThrough your loyal support, you help keep families close when it matters most,\u201d the company noted, thanking South Africans for their continued contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since opening its first local restaurant in 1995, McDonald\u2019s South Africa has expanded to more than 400 outlets and employs over 17,000 people nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RMHC remains one of its flagship community-upliftment programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
